Why have you chosen these four blank suppliers?

Our Flagship series of fly rods cover the most useful lengths and weights. The rod lengths chosen are made for those accurate casts in all types of weather. Our suppliers have been chosen because of their quality control meet our stringent Stanley Canyon Fishing requirements to design, handcraft, and test our finished fly rods in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Our American Tackle blank at 4wt, 2pc fits the niche as  a dry and light nymph rod. The Batson 5wt, 4pc will marvel with it’s accuracy and long casting ability. Our 9’0” blanks from Rod Geek and Kistler are rated at 5 and 6 weights for all-round fly casting with small dry, nymphs, and streamers.

Why do you charge so much for your Flagship Fly Rods?

Our Flagship series of American Tackle, Batson, Rod Geek and Kistler fly rods represent our custom efforts to meet your standards. These standards include the highest quality parts, our diligent efforts, and aherence to your design requests.

How do you choose the cork, reel seat, and guides used on your fly rods?

Each of these fly rod components are chosen with our overall design for the Flagship. We realized that the reverse half well, aluminum reel seat, and chrome plated snake guides fit our design requirement on all four Flagship rods.

What if different components are requested?

Often requested changes to our Flagship fly rods may include different cork handle, wood insert reel seat, and single foot guides. What experience do you have in building fly rods?

Our experience includes using fly rods for 50 years and realizing that my best fly rod was the one I built for myself. I then found that many others would like a fly rod to their specifications. Thus Stanley Canyon Fishing was brought to life.
